Acting

Per Christian Ellefsen (Elling) and Sven Nordin (Kjell Bjarne) played these roles in a stage version of Elling before the movie was made. One reviewer said this lent a “lived-in” quality to their performances. Do you agree?

Definitely. They seemed very comfortable with each other. Their relationship was fantastic. And they really seemed to inhabit those characters.

I felt the "lived-in" quality, too. And I think they were well-cast. Not just because of their looks (although that was important), but also because portraying their particular quirks seemed to be so natural.

Since their relationship seemed natural, perhaps that background added to the credibility. Good acting, too.
