People seem to have greatly varying reactions to "Grey Gardens," finding it disturbing, humorous, sad, fascinating, intrusive. What did you think upon first viewing?
I found it utterly fascinating. The depth of their experience and recall is astounding. I felt like I had seen their whole lives, in a sense, and not just snippets of conversations from scattered days.
I laughed out loud several times, like when Little Edie said "And you can always take off the skirt and use it as a cape" or "I'm pulverized by this latest thing!"
