What's in the Box?

This being a film blog and all, it was only a matter of time before somebody picked a movie by David Lynch or by the Coen brothers. The suspense was killing me, so now we have it. Also, I’ve been running through the Coen collection of late and just watched “Fargo”. Since I haven’t seen “Barton Fink” since it first came out, I’ll take this opportunity to ring the bell....

I haven't seen this -- I'm looking forward to it.

Me too! My favorite film is Raising Arizona, and I also gave Oh, Brother Where Art Though a ten, but I've never seen this one!

(Yes, I also like The Big Lebowski and Fargo. We own all four on DVD.)

Ben, I hope you will provide some interesting commentary about the sound effects in this movie. Even all these years later, I still remember how remarkable the use of sound is.

And maybe this is a heads up to everyone else to try and pay attention to the sound although a few of the effects would be hard to miss.

This may be my favorite Coen brothers movie. It was early. I was not a fan of Lebowski or Oh, Brother.

You really liked "Fargo," didn't you? I more or less hated "Lebowski" and was cool on "Fargo," but I adored "Oh, Brother."

Frances McDormand is great. I'm not as big a fan of Lebowski as I am of the other three.

I did like Fargo! I love Frances McDormand!

I need to see "Oh, Brother" again. I probably had skewed expectations of it.

I thought Lebowski looked more like a caricature of a Coen brothers movie than an actual CB movie. I didn't enjoy any of those characters or give a crap what happened to them.

I do like it how Julianne Moore says "vagina."
